Last week was rough, with multiple large assignments due on the same day. I am used to being busy, but graduate school is a different kind of busy where I have less control of my schedule. All of the work is compelling, but it can be disheartening to know that you can't dive too deeply into any one assignment because there are so many others waiting for your attention. That has been frustrating, but I'm slowly learning how to make more space for the work I am most interested in.
Thankfully, I've made it through the annotated bibliographies, solo dance projects, grading undergraduate essays, and teaching both small devising experiments and large lectures on theatre history. This week is feeling a little better. I've had some brain space to dream about future devising projects, and over the weekend I'll reward myself with performances: Linda Mary Montano's INTERACTIONARAMA, and Jenn Kidwell and Thomas Graves' Table.
