The kickstarter page for my project Mining the Mine of the Mind for Minderals with Megan Mazarick is live! I am incredibly excited to debut this work (my first evening length piece in Philadelphia, and my first self-produced work ever) as part of the 2012 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Please check out all of the information here and consider making a donation. Thank you for your support!
I'm happy to announce I'll be directing a group of current students at the amazing Pig Iron School in a show for the 2012 Philly Fringe Festival! Hackles will be a completely devised piece authored by and featuring Alice Yorke, Martha Stuckey, Nick Gillette, and Scott Sheppard. The show will run September 7-September 16 at 8pm at the Crane Old School White Box Theatre. Stay tuned for more information.
Come see Team Sunshine Performance Corporation perform Wonderwave, I'll be helping out backstage.
Wednesday, June 20, 6pm Thursday, June 21, 6pm Wednesday, June 27, 6pm Thursday, June 28, 6pm FREE, but reservations required. ABOUT THE EVENT Join local neighborhood residents and Commotion artists for an intimate evening of performance and a communal dinner in the historic and beautiful Shiloh Baptist Church. In forget me...forget me not, a new performance installation created by Subcircle, audiences will wander through corridors and unseen rooms of Shiloh, into a place of forgotten stories and lost objects. You will then arrive at the dining hall and share a locally sourced and home cooked meal with your fellow audience members. Following dinner, Team Sunshine Performance Corporation presents Wonderwave, a new physical-theatre piece that uses humor and dance as a tool to delve into the emotionally complicated realm of coping and loss. In this work they investigate natural disasters, the music we listen to in times of desperation, the dances we make to embrace our circumstances, and the glimmer of hope that helps us to stay afloat. Enjoy dessert, as you chat with the performers and your new dinner friends. I'll be performing in a new work by Hinako Arao on June 14th, 7:30pm and 9:30pm at studio:christensen.
